Aspen Redesigns Crane Dolly for Mammoet’s New Liebherr 1400
Leduc, Alberta, Canada -- March 2, 2009 – The redesigned Aspen 40 Ton 5 axle crane dolly recently delivered to Mammoet Crane in Edmonton, Alberta to connect to their Liebherr 1400 hydraulic crane is packed full of new features. This crane dolly offers increased protection for the hydraulic crane boom, operational features to meet the specific needs of the customer and even more safety features than previous designs.
Aspen’s engineering team designed this particular crane dolly with all air ride suspensions for a smoother ride to protect the hydraulic boom from rough roads. The moving carriage on this dolly has both vertical and lateral greasable rollers and Teflon coated top rails on the dolly frame, these features are necessary to ensure the carriage is free to slide as the crane negotiates corners further reducing the strain on the crane boom. It is lighter weight than other crane dollies its size making it more efficient for the self-propelled crane to tow. This crane dolly was designed with 5 axles to meet specific weight regulations in the jurisdictions Mammoet Crane operates. It is equipped with both 12volt and 24volt lighting systems to ensure compatibility with any crane manufacturer’s lighting specifications. In addition to all the safety features Aspen trailers are known for, this crane dolly features ergonomic stairs on both sides and safety tread plate throughout to further increase the safety of the operator while connecting and disconnecting the crane boom from the Aspen crane dolly.

ITrans-Am Rookie Finishes Strong at Inaugural Race
NISKU, ALBERTA - Monday, July 18, 2005 - Aspen team driver Tony Morris Jr., in the Trans-Am race at the inaugural West Edmonton Mall Grand Prix, thrills fans with his performance. Finishing strong in 9th place overall, 2nd in the GTA class, Jr. showcased his driving talent among some of North America's top road racers.
“We are proud to be a part of the first racing weekend in Edmonton” comments Murray Johnston, president of Aspen Custom Trailers. “If the fan attendance and enthusiasm is any indication, Edmonton will enjoy successful race weekends for many years to come.” Although a loss for Vancouver race fans, moving the race to Edmonton was a thrill for the Aspen Racing team; with Aspen's headquarters only ½ hour away from the track a huge number of employees, customers and suppliers were able to attend and support their racing team.
In the #20 Aspen Custom Trailers Chevrolet Monte Carlo V8 Proformance Racing Car, Tony Morris Jr. reached speeds of more than 83 miles per hour and clocked lap times of 1 minute 25 seconds.

Aspen Announces Increased Capacity
NISKU, ALBERTA – Tuesday, June 28, 2005 – Aspen Custom Trailers, a Canadian custom lowbed trailer manufacturer, announced today its decision to increase capacity by 20% by the end of 2005. This news is received enthusiastically by oilfield and heavy haul customers alike; the high price of oil combined with a booming economy has pushed lead times for Aspen’s custom lowbed trailers to lengths this industry has never experienced before.
“I’m pleased our organization has responded to our customer’s demands for reduced lead times without compromising the current delivery schedule says Aspen’s president Murray Johnston. “The levels of activity we’re seeing in the past months just reaffirms our decision to build a larger manufacturing plant here in Alberta and get all of our divisions on one property designed specifically for our business.”
Aspen is pushing forward with a new facility in the Leduc Business Park where all of its divisions and offices will be located by the fall of 2006. The first phase, due for completion in October 2005, was originally intended for their Service and Machine Shop businesses; however, with growing lead times for trailers this space has been reallocated for more manufacturing space.
